How To Live An Overall Healthy Life

There are the obvious ways in which you can stay healthy and “live a long happy life,” but I want to talk about some of my favorite tips to being healthy. I know what it takes to be a healthy person, but it’s even hard for me sometimes. I read other peoples’ blogs sometimes to give myself motivation. Sometimes your mind isn’t enough. Sometimes you need other people to give you that push that you need to keep going. I’ve said it many times before and I’ll say it again: food and fitness are not the only aspects of health. I like to help people be healthy, but it’s going to take more than my words and my tips for you to follow through with your goals. One of my favorite tips is to cook meals that you know will fill you up. Also, make sure that it is something that you will enjoy eating, and that it will satisfy your cravings. The worst feeling ever is filling up on a bunch of food and realizing that you are still “hungry,” because you have a craving for something more. Listen to your body when it tells you it needs something sweet. There are healthy things that are sweet. Eat an orange! Another tip what I have for my viewers is to be honest with yourself. If you’re lying to yourself, how do you expect someone else to be truthful with you?! I’m talking honesty in all aspects. For example, for one, be honest with yourself if you need a cheat meal. It’s okay to have a cheat meal to get through the week. Your week is going to be just horrible if you are constantly drowning yourself in lettuce. That’s the physical aspect about being honest with yourself. The mental part about being honest is that you need to just be an honest person overall. You attract what you give. You don’t want to get caught up with what you think you want and what you really need. Also, do not put too much on your body (or mind) that it cannot handle. Only you know what is too much, what is just enough, and what isn’t enough. You have to push yourself in all aspects of life but not to the point of no survival.

Relationships are another huge aspect to living an overall healthy life. You accept the love you think you deserve. That is why it’s so important to not only have a healthy body, and a health mind, but also a love for yourself. You have to love yourself enough to know what you deserve. If someone isn’t making any positive contributions to your life, then in all reality, they have no point in being there. Also, if there are more negative aspects to a relationship rather than positives, it’s time to let go. Negativity in your relationships effects you more than you realize. It effects your confidence and your overall well being. Unfortunately, you are setting the standard for all of the following people to enter your life. They have to know how they need to treat you in order to stay in your life. If you allow people to walk all over you, they’re going to.

Another thing that I want to touch on is family. Some people in your life will come and go. Friends will most likely come and go. Boyfriends/girlfriends will come and go but family is blood and family is forever. You can’t get rid of them. You were put with them for a reason and they are there to get you through the times when you feel as if you have no one. Yes, you may fight with your family. In fact, I fight more with my family than I do with my friends. But, I also forgive them much faster than anyone else. I know that they know me better than anyone else. They’ve known me longer than anyone else in my life and so has your family. While sometimes you may feel as though they don’t know what you want… they know what you need and that’s more important.

Another huge part of living a healthy life is sleep. I’m sure you know that you’re supposed to get enough sleep every night, but did you know that too much sleep is horrible for you? Did you know that there is a significant correlation between too much sleep and weight gain. I don’t know the entire reason for that, but I do know that skipping breakfast is bad for your metabolism so I’m sure that that has something to do with it. For me, if I know that I have a long day ahead of me, I make sure that I get to bed very really. Ever since I got a Fitbit, I noticed how horrible my sleeping patterns are. Sometimes I’ll go to bed around 10 and wake up at 8 and I’ll still be exhausted. So, I check my Fitbit and I see that I only got 5 hours of sleep. I am obsessed with my Fitbit because it is so accurate. My dad wears one too and his says he gets good sleep, so it is different for everyone but I am so glad that I got one, because now I know why I have been so tired throughout the day after thinking I got 8+ hours of sleep.

So, with all of that being said, I want everyone to be the best person they can be. Follow all aspects of health and don’t just focus on the physical features. A healthy mind can mean a healthy life, too. I think everyone needs to focus more on the different parts of health. In fact, I would argue that weight is just a number. Muscle weighs more fat. People need to stop seeing the numbers on a scale as a representation of health. I learned to be happy with my weight, because I know that my body contains a lot of muscle. Once again, thank you for tuning in.

Staying Healthy and Fit

There are a variety of reasons why people exercise, and many continue to exercise daily. Exercise has so many benefits that the list goes on and on. A few reasons why you should incorporate exercise into your daily routine are:

  • Weight Maintenance
  • Weight Loss
  • Stress Reduction
  • Combat Disease and Health Conditions
  • Improve Mood
  • Improve Circulation
  • Promotes Better Sleep
  • Improve Sex Life
  • And More

Getting Started with Exercise

We are not all in the most perfect shape of our lives. Our jobs can even take a toll if we are having to sit in one place for extended amount of times. Our bodies gradually begin to adapt to our daily routines and then the downhill battle begins. There are ways to incorporate exercise into our daily lives without it taking up too much time and energy.

Before beginning any type of exercise routine, it is best to speak with your personal physician to be sure that the exercise is good for your health and any predisposed conditions.

Beginning slowly is the key when it comes to beginning an exercise routine. Exercising does not have to cost an arm and leg and there are routines that can cost you very little. Things like taking a walk a couple of times a day take nothing but your time. Of course, it is important to dress appropriately for the weather where you live and walk.

Exercise at Home or the Gym

Nowadays, there are many people who do not want to go to the nearest gym. Whether you are uncomfortable being in front of others or just do not want to pay for a gym membership the option to exercise at home is always available.

There are many choices for exercise equipment that can be used right at home. Many stores carry a large supply of equipment and clothing for every level of fitness. Below are a few examples of the equipment and accessories available from this company.

  • Waist Trimmers: These beauties make it possible to have a thinner waist without having to take time out of your busy schedule and can be used in addition to your workout routine. Waist trimmers can add extra back support when you are working out and add heat to the area to help burn fat faster. These belts are comfortable and are made with materials that can breathe.
  • Indoor Bike Trainers: For those of us who love to ride bikes these bike trainers are an ideal way to exercise. Of course, the weather and time may not always be on our side, so the use of a bike trainer allows us to exercise when we want whether it is too dark outside or too cold.
  • Running Shoes: Sports equipment stores and shoe stores carry the best when it comes to running shoes. It is very important to wear good running shoes while out jogging to avoid injury to our feet and body.
  • Treadmills: This is a must have if you are serious about your exercise routine. Using a treadmill daily to walk or run allows you to still be able to exercise even if the weather is too hot or too cold. Treadmills have become more affordable over the past few years and are becoming a staple in many households.

Natural Minerals – The Spark Plugs of Life

Natural Minerals are the “Spark Plugs of Life” states a 2 x winner of the Nobel Prize!!

Our body is a bit like a ‘car engine’ – the car of course requires oil in the engine to ensure it runs smoothly and petrol to drive it. Just like our body which requires “natural minerals” to ensure it runs as smoothly as possible over the years, and it is the food we eat which provides them for us.

Question – What would happen to your car’s engine IF you did not keep it topped up with oil?

Need I say more?

FACT- Our body’s immune system requires a minimum of 60 ‘natural minerals’ per day to enable it to carry out its function which is to protect us from all sorts of ailments and illnesses.

FACT – Imagine what is happening to your body IF you do not feed it sufficient ‘natural minerals for IT to do its job effectively.

FACT – These ‘natural minerals’ are transferred from the soil into the food that is grown there, but unfortunately they are ‘no longer’ available in the quantities we require due to over farming, chemicals and pesticides.

FACT – Over the past 50 years and more this natural 100% supply has diminished to an alarming extent – by as much as 75% in most Countries across the World. In fact there is one State in the USA where there has been a 100% depletion of them!

FACT – The above came from a World Wide survey carried out by the World Health Organisation some 50 and more years ago – and WE are only just being told about it.

Well there is ‘one’ way YOU can make sure both yourself and your family feeds your bodies with the necessary amount of ‘natural minerals’ on a daily basis – and that is with a daily “Natural Sizzling Minerals” drink – or some “Natural Mineral Powder” sprinkled over the veg or other food you and your family eat on a daily basis.

By the way, there is ONLY Company in the World providing this benefit – and they are NOT available in the shops either.

Finally – a little note – whilst I would personally agree that ‘organic’ fruit & veg are better for you than all the other stuff we tend to buy just remember that even ‘organic’ food is mostly grown in ‘depleted’ soil. Just a thought.

To avoid any confusion please let me make it quite clear that Natural Minerals are NOT a cure for anything – they are not a medicine but they ARE a necessity in our daily lives as you will have read above.

Tips to Make Your Family Healthy and Lively

Throughout our lives, we run so fast in achieving a better life that we forget to think what actually counts. I have seen a lot of obese people who are rich and have no control over their eating habits. They seem extremely depressed about it. Also, I found most of them alone so their depression increases even more. I won’t be wrong if I say they have a lot of money but nowhere to spend it. What’s the use of earning so much money when it can’t make you happy?

I always prioritize because I firmly believe in an old age adage “health is wealth.” I practice it myself and also motivate my family members to be healthy. It doesn’t only benefit them physically, but also improves their psychological health and helps them in living a happy life.

Make a Habit of Exercising

A few years back, I used to exercise alone upon my curiosity to be healthy, but, now, I workout with my daughter and husband. When we get back home from work, we find out little princess busy in doing homework. After relaxing for a few hours, I play music and we exercise together. Recently, I motivated my husband to join a gym together, too, but we skipped the idea as it isn’t a nice option for a seven-year-old kid. You can always go to a gym with your family if your kids are old enough.

If home exercising doesn’t work and it bores your kid, take him to a playground and let him play with different types of commercial playground equipment. However, do take foam padding for playgrounds with you in order to ensure safety for them.

Encourage Healthy Eating

Parents have a hold over what should be cooked at home. If you make a habit of eating healthy food since the beginning of your kid’s life, it will last throughout his life and he will lead an exemplary life. We can only do better when our health is good enough.

Cook healthy meals at home by using olive oil and veggies. Eat meat twice a week and avoid junk food. Kids love eating junks so you have to motivate them to eat healthily. Do not suppress their urge and allow them to have junk once in a week, but not more than that.

Cut Soda

Don’t be surprised when I tell you an average can of soda is equal to ten tablespoons of sugar that are equal to 150 calories. Consuming a bottle of soda regularly results in gaining five pounds in a year. Replace soda with healthy drinks and fruits as you can see how hazardous it is to your health. Such healthy habits can be induced in children when they are young. Once they grow up, it becomes a hell of a challenge to fight their unhealthy habits.

Spend Quality Time Together

Even though it seems difficult to spend time with your family with a jam-packed routine, doing so will do wonders for both you and your kids. Make evening time your family time and go to walk and explore nature. Set goal to discover something new every week and go to a new place in your town. Believe it or not, fresh air does to your health what nothing else can do so go outside and avail the natural blessings you have in life.

Be Social

Kids learn more by observing their elders and peers. Therefore, set good examples for them so that they live a healthy life. The human beings are social animals and being alone ruins their personality and health. Therefore, socialize and let your kids hang out, too.

Live a Healthy Lifestyle Easily

Good health is the gift of God. In this busy life, it is very difficult to maintain a good and healthy lifestyle. Which is the core of attaining the good health. There are a few things that can make your lifestyle a healthier lifestyle, hence helping you to get a good health. These include:

Diet / Nutrition

The very first and the most important thing in maintaining a good health is your diet. In general, dieting is considered as the eating of some specified foods. If you are not maintaining your diet no matter what exercise you do or what sport you play, you can’t have good health. Diet not only includes healthy eating but keeping it regular and having your meals at a specific time is an essential part of dieting and good nutrition.

Good nutrition includes intake of enough calories required by the body. This can be done by maintaining a moderate amount of essentials like proteins, carbohydrates, fats and liquid calories as well. Water plays a very important role in maintaining your shape (shape of your body). Besides that, water helps in cleansing your skin as well. Depending on the weather a normal human body requires at least 8 glasses of water. This required amount increases in the area where it is hotter.

Sleeping

Along with nutrition, sleep is also very important to have a good health. Good sleep can benefit your mind, heart, weight etc. It is the part of a good and healthier lifestyle which many of us ignore. If you are not having a good sleep you can face many issues like the disturbance in mood, having dark circle around your eyes (under-eye circles). It is highly recommended to have 6-8 hours’ sleep during 24 hours of the day.

A good sleep can be helpful in:

  • Maintaining good weight.
  • Having sharp attention.
  • Improving your memory.
  • Low stress

Exercise

Exercise is also an essential part of your healthy lifestyle. Exercise helps you a lot in maintaining your weight, keeping your body in shape. Exercise includes playing any game which includes physical activity. The best exercise anyone can do is the morning walk or jogging / running in the morning. Going to the gym for muscle building can help you get six pack abs. Regular exercise can help you strengthen your body to fight against different diseases.

What Children Teach Us About Health

Some of you reading this may be enjoying your pinnacle years of health. Others may be struggling with a difficult diagnosis. Still others may feel trapped in a cycle of bad habits. Regardless where you are, one of the key points of living with health is living each moment to the fullest. It is pivotal that we take the moment in front of us, and live that moment with hope. Sometimes our best intentions of planning ahead for our health can rob of us of the happiness of our health TODAY. As a healthcare provider, I wanted to remind us all of some key concepts from the science of health, that I have learned time and again from caring for children:

Stop and appreciate each breath, regardless of your future goals.
Trust others more freely. Let yourself be filled with hope by embracing a child like faith in LOVE and LIFE.
Don’t worry about tomorrow. Plan for tomorrow’s health, but, appreciate what you have now.

Children are notorious for embracing the moment, regardless of what lies ahead. They are notorious for trusting implicitly. That must be why there are so many illustrations of embracing child like faith. The evidence is clear that strength in the moment comes from a mental agility and mindfulness of the present. Trust and hope in the moment are essential to health. Today’s tip reminders are inspired by a young Piraha boy I cared for in the Amazon jungles of Brazil:

I had been assigned to work with a community health group, screening for malaria in rural areas of northwestern Brazil. One of our tasks was to test for malaria, and treat the cases we found. I expected to be treating bedridden patients, with high fevers, depleted from all energy. Instead what I found were many children who were playing soccer in the fields, while testing positive for malaria! In attempt to treat each individual case, I called a young boy, Joao, into the clinic. His blood level of malaria was high, but, not his energy or zeal for life. He was about 7 years old, and his frailness hid behind his intense energy. I told his mom he had malaria, and that he would need to take the medicine to treat it for a few days. As we checked his temperature, his high fever was a surprise to me. He was so energetic, and seemed to face such a difficult disease without a care in the world! I can even remember him begging his mother to let him finish his game of soccer before he started the malaria medication!. He lived moment by moment, and it was obvious he had grown accustomed to appreciating whatever opportunity life gave him, with or without malaria.

I hope Joao’s story reminds you to appreciate today’s health as you HOPE for your health goals. I have learned from patients in every facet of life that this is where HOPE begins. From the cradle to the grave, we can appreciate each breath we have been given with a childlike faith for each moment!

Health Devices to Make Your Life Easier

No matter if you are suffering from high blood pressure, blood sugar or obesity, going to the doctor every month for checkups can become a real ordeal in our busy lives. Blood glucose meters are portable devices that are used to measure the amount of glucose in the blood. They are often used by diabetic people to monitor and manage their condition. These hand-held machines are critical in determining the diet you can follow and how well any medication you are on is working in controlling your blood sugar levels. Since they can be used at home, they give you the convenience of instant feedback and help you keep a record of your results that can be shown to your doctor to get an accurate picture of how well your treatment is working.

But with the advent of home health monitoring devices like glucometers, blood pressure monitors and weighing scales, keeping track of your health has never been easier. They not only save you from the weekly trips to the doctor but also provide accurate readings that help you manage your condition effectively.
